Microsoft adds Dynamics CRM Online license options

No longer one size fits all.

Microsoft is tweaking the licensing plans for Dynamics CRM Online ahead of the 2013 version, adding both cheaper and more expensive options for customers to choose from.

While Microsoft has previously offered the online version at US$41 a user a month, three licensing options are now available, starting with the lightweight 'Essential' tier at US$15 per user per month.

A 'Basic' option costs US$30 per user per month, and is aimed at sales, service and marketing staff to manage accounts, contacts, sales leads and provides access to custom apps; and at business analysts that require reporting capabilities.

Microsoft touts that the 'Professional' option at US$65 per user per month will fit most users' needs best. It includes the full capabilities of Dynamics CRM with sales automation, marketing and customer care.

While there are no additonal licensing fees for mobile access on Dynamics CRM Online, there may be additional charges for add-on services such as storage and testing and network connectivity.

Customers will be allowed to mix and match the three online licenses, the firm said.

iTnews is confirming with Microsoft how the licensing changes will affect Australian customers.
