Allianz insurance unit loses CIO

Hunts for replacement.

Insurance provider Allianz Global Assistance Australia is on the hunt for a new chief information officer after the departure of Abdul Hussein just before Christmas.

A spokeswoman for the insurer confirmed the timing of Hussein's departure to iTnews.

The spokeswoman said she was "not aware" of the circumstances of Hussein's departure.

Allianz is in the process of recruiting a replacement.

The incoming CIO will have to manage an IT&T team numbering "over 50" in Australia and New Zealand.

Allianz's Global Assistance was formerly known as Mondial Assistance in Australia. It provides travel insurance and roadside assistance products.
