WatchGuard acquires BorderWare

By SC Australia Staff on Aug 5, 2009 10:27AM

WatchGuard Technologies is to acquire BorderWare Technologies.

Toronto-based BorderWare Technologies is a provider of email and web security content. It also provides threat management platforms for mid-sized enterprises, government and service providers.

No immediate changes will be made to BorderWare product offerings, customer support and channel programs. Future new products from WatchGuard or BorderWare will be announced upon their availability.

Both WatchGuard Technologies and BorderWare Technologies are privately held. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Joe Wang, CEO of WatchGuard Technologies, said: “This acquisition is extremely complementary and will allow WatchGuard to accelerate and further deliver on its vision of extending security solutions to protect corporate data, networks and applications.

“By acquiring BorderWare's best in class messaging, content security and innovative ‘in-the-cloud' security offerings, customers will now have a single source for comprehensive and complete security.”
