  Editor's Note

Good morning,

Today we feature the third in a series of columns on the role of the CIO written by Deakin University chief information and digital officer, William Confalonieri.

Confalonieri's post is likely to be a little confronting to those of us that have defined our careers as being in 'IT'. It even hits close to home for us at iTnews - resonating with many of the responses I hear when I explain to people what we cover as a publication.

Is 'IT' too limiting? Do the connotations that come with it accurately represent the role of today's technology leaders? What would be a more apt alternative?

And what would we call iTnews instead???
