  Editor's Note

Good afternoon,

During August and September we ran a survey on disaster recovery preparedness amongst Australian organisations.

I'd like to thank the 200+ IT infrastructure and DR managers who shared their insights.

We've posted a report on the results online, now available for subscribers to download.

Among some of the findings:

• One in three organisations surveyed could not validate whether their DR plan actually works, as they had never attempted to simulate the impact of an outage on systems.
• Two in three survey respondents (68.8 percent) did not have their disaster recovery plans audited by a third party.

We hope you find the report of use.

- Brett Winterford
