Today we jump back into iTnews Labs with a benchmarking review of OS-repository database management systems MariaDB and MySQL. We tested versions of both for performance on our industry standard servers, as they come bundled with various Linux distributions (CentOS, Debian and Ubuntu).

The review was penned by Darren Yates, who was recently awarded technical journalist of the year for a whopping eighth time. Darren has kindly included a tutorial on how to run your own benchmarks.
