Good morning,

The 'Australia Card' national identification scheme is, well, back on the cards again it seems - but maybe this time it has a real chance of succeeding.

A new generation is emerging that is not only much more comfortable with technology that invades their privacy, they also sometimes welcome it.

It's still up to the Government to sell the card to Australians, including what safeguards would be in place to prevent breaches. Safeguards it seems could include revoking exemptions from privacy laws, including small business and government itself...
