EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

The surge of interest in Microsoft's newest operating system is continuing unabated, with local ISPs reporting sharp rises in traffic following public availability of Windows 7.

It appears the new OS may even have had a role in choking fibre links into Tasmania overnight - prompting calls for more capacity to be added.

The news will undoubtedly please Microsoft. Let us know how your RC download experience is going.
