EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

It has been a big week in telco as two major conferences discuss the future of the industry, regulation and governance of the internet.

Parties used the public forums to warn that the closed-door negotiations between ISPs and rights holders could lapse if a deadlock on who pays for a notice system is not broken.

And Australia Post is set to become a major entrant into the post-NBN telco industry, with a key focus on leveraging its outlets and brand recognition to provide internet and mobile services, particularly in rural Australia.

Have a great weekend!

-- James Hutchinson
