EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

Up to 100,000 modems worldwide could lose their internet connections when the FBI shuts down rogue DNS servers seized last year. Though Windows PCs were the biggest targeted in the DNS scam, a key investigator in the take-down says modems are a harder problem to solve.

And this afternoon we dig into the ACMA's discussion paper on more broadband spectrum. Telstra uses much of the 1.5 GHz spectrum the ACMA plans to refarm for microwave services.

Have a great weekend,

-- James Hutchinson
