Pacnet, the former joint venture partner in Pacific Fibre, has questioned demand for the proposed cable between Australia, New Zealand and the US. Even the NBN and New Zealand's UFB aren't enough to keep the cable afloat, according to global chief executive Bill Barney.
We also take a look at whether copyright holders will let New Zealand's newest ISP slide, or if it's much-touted geoblock-busting abilities will face legal challenge in the country's courts.
