EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

It was a big week for telecommunications as the deal to structurally separate Telstra was sealed. The new regulation is expected to push along competition in the sector while speeding up the rollout of the NBN.

We also bring you news of more entrants to the NBN satellite space (excuse the pun), proposed changes to the Government's internet filter policy and successful trials of CSIRO's microwave backhaul technology.

Have a great weekend!

-- James Hutchinson
