Good afternoon,

Chief information officers are critical change agents for advancing public sector productivity and enterprise systems, as illustrated in today's in-depth interview with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry's Graham Gathercole.

Despite their importance, the Government is planning more cuts to CIOs' budgets as part of a continued shakeout of "unnecessary spending".

The states are also, perhaps, a little shaky on the proposition, with one of the conspicuously absent elements of Victoria's draft ICT strategy being any mention of the role of CIOs...
