EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

We start with yet another bagging of panel contracts as being inflexible, anti-competitive and SME-unfriendly. Is it a coincidence that this critique is a consequence of governments cracking down on IT budgets over the past year or so?

At the same time, it's intriguing to see the Feds roll out a new shared services scheme with ambitious savings targets. Can this one duck the curse of shared services initiatives of the past?
