EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

What is it about multilateral initiatives that turns off our governments?

On the face of it, the Open Government Partnership (OGP) seems a good thing, embraced by allies and developing countries and focused on positive benefits of technology. It seems to be perfectly aligned with our Gov 2.0 policies. But it remains under consideration.

It makes for a striking contrast to the Government's insistent support for more controversial and less transparent plurilateral treaties such as ACTA and TPPA.
