EDITOR'S NOTE

Greetings,

Federal, State and Local Government investments face greater public scrutiny thanks to the new MyRegion website that launched quietly this week.

Meanwhile, I had the pleasure of attending the launch of the Open Technology Foundation this morning. It's an initiative I see as one of the more promising to target government agencies, with Defence and the Bureau of Meteorlogy already on board.

AGIMO has remained aloof and while its stance is understandable, I hope it reconsiders this in future as agencies form an exciting new beach head for open solutions, technologies and tools.
