EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

Communications minister Stephen Conroy will raise the prospect of Australia as a cloud hub in a planned visit to Google's US headquarters. With a recent court decision and his own public statements on Google's privacy record, it may be a tough sell.

And the University of Queensland has progressed with a plan to link all Australian universities to a 100-petabyte data storage network by 2014. They've code-named the project 'Iron Maiden'.
