EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

The big news this week was Telstra's decision to shift its 4.2 million BigPond email subscribers onto the Windows Live platform. Telstra subscribers will enjoy a far superior service, and Telstra staff will be able to re-focus on higher value services. But how would you feel as a BigPond customer knowing your data will now be stored overseas? Let us know via the poll on the iTnews home page.

I would also like to make sure you cloud watchers know about the iTnews Executive Summit series happening in Sydney (February 24) and Melbourne (March 19). The Sydney event features a presentation on cloud computing by APRA's head of IT risk David Pegrem, among others.

I have also lined up some excellent speakers on cloud computing topics at the Melbourne summit, the full agenda of which we'll reveal next week.

-- Brett Winterford
