EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

Who is Nicira and why is how is it a threat to Cisco and Juniper? Today Liam Tung provides an introduction. I would be interested to hear your thoughts on whether the software-defined network is a game changer.

I should also mention the results of our recent reader poll. About 36 percent of 270-odd respondents said they would reconsider using DropBox and other public cloud storage services after the US Government pulled MegaUploads offline.
