EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

This week we've focused our fire on complete coverage of the Megaupload saga, especially the implications for customers and suppliers of web hosting and other cloud services.

Shelston IP partner Mark Vincent and I have looked into some of the key legal questions around the indictment and arrests, Liam Tung notes how other file lockers are shutting down on changing policies, and we also look at whether the strategy will only push piracy back to P2P networks.

Today we've opened up a poll on the front page to ask whether the shutdown shifted your perception of risk around other cloud storage services.

Just over 57 percent of the 400 readers that answered our last Cloud Cover poll expressed less confidence in SaaS security in the wake of a Telstra/RightNow CRM data breach.

Thanks as always for your feedback,

-- Brett Winterford
