An outsourcing firm part-owned by BT Group is about to get a whole lot larger, after winning in its bid to take a majority stake in Satyam.

Tech Mahindra beat off the main challenger, a private equity firm, to secure the assets. The price is expected to be in excess of US$550m.

The big question is whether this will give customers the certainty to stay on - or at least reinstate Satyam services after suspending them in the wake of the scandal...
