Good morning,

Symantec's new boss Enrique Salem has wasted no time, becoming the latest industry head to try to get people off the 'buy more storage hardware' bandwagon.

We wouldn't have thought many IT shops needed much encouragement when it comes to that particular message - many have gone through or are gazing down the path of a tiered architecture already.

Of course, the other way of not buying storage could be to jump into the NetApp $1m challenge...
