EDITOR'S NOTE

The Federal Government is under fire on two fronts in Canberra today - and both in relation to a lack of investment in ICT.

First, the Minister for Defence has blamed a legacy of under-investment in ICT systems for a bungle that saw soldiers returning from Afghanistan denied pay entitlements.

Telstra's head spin doctor, meanwhile, was blaming Government regulation for a lack of investment in the telecommunications sector.
