EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

With the mobile telecomms world converging on Barcelona this week, the Metro Ethernet Forum has decided it's time again to push the idea of Carrier Ethernet to meet next-gen mobile data demands.

The technology is apparently now in place to enable operators to switch over from legacy TDM and ATM backhaul transport services - at least according to Infonetics and Alcatel-Lucent.

MEF has come up with a new implementation agreement to help carriers make the transition. Have a read and let us know what you think, too.
