EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

Telstra today took further controlling stakes in two more Chinese mobile and online content companies.

The stakes are worth some $302 million, and the carrier is anticipating revenues from its China media businesses to hit $1 billion by 2013.

Oddly, as Sol Trujillo points out, Telstra wouldn't have seen that sort of revenue from the NBN within the timeframe - though he denied the purchases were motivated by Telstra's lack of involvement in the national broadband process.
