The big news today is without doubt the planned merger of 3 and Vodafone in Australia.

If approved, the two will come under a new brand called VHA and boast some 95 percent coverage of the population.

Of course jobs are the tip of the iceberg for effects of the merger. What happens with other JVs such as 3GIS will be very interesting.
