Good afternoon,

Most Melbourne Internet users - and depending on your ISP's arrangements, many others nationally - experienced a good chunk of downtime yesterday after a blackout at the Primus data centre.

A post incident report expected to be distributed this afternoon should provide some more concrete answers on what went wrong.

Suffice to say questions are being raised across the industry how so many layers of redundancy failed to kick in. One gets the feeling that full repercussions are still yet to come...
