EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

Education Queensland has confirmed this afternoon that the expansion of an agreement with networking vendor 3com will benefit students who receive laptops as part of the Rudd Government's digital education revolution.

There isn't a direct correlation between the 3com deal and the revolution - it's part of a continued standardisation project at DETA, according to the spokesperson.

But with data centre infrastucture looming as a core consideration in the Federal government's plans, these types of state-based agreements will no doubt be watched with renewed interest.
