EDITOR'S NOTE

Afternoon everyone,

Today it's part two of Telstra's technical briefing on the NBN - looking this time at how they've factored the costs of addressing noise and crosstalk into their proposal.

With triple-play support looking increasingly likely, finding ways to optimise the available bandwidth is going to be critical.

Of course, translating that speed from the customer premise wall to the actual access device inside is always problematic - and subject to a number of potential points of interference.

Good to see the bidders are looking at the issue - though it would be great to see even more detail on how they plan to cut some of the noise that's beyond the control of the access seeker and the network operator.

As always, feel free to drop us a note and tell us what you think.
