EDITOR'S NOTE

Afternoon everyone,

We've just returned from a lengthy technical briefing from Telstra around the NBN and what's possible. Very interesting stuff, as you can read in our headline story and associated photo gallery.

The idea that it could take five years of 24x7 work just to deliver 90 percent population coverage is just one of many mind-boggling assertions made. If it's to be believed, it will be very interesting to see how the other bidders are proposing to cost their network builds.

What was good from our perspective was to see someone talking about the technical challenges of an NBN.

We've all been waiting months for it, and as you'll see from some of the photos, finally we have some network diagrams on the table. All we can say is... enjoy and discuss!
