EDITOR'S NOTE

Afternoon everyone,

The skills exodus unfortunately continues this afternoon with security folks Websense pulling their R&D team out of Sydney and relocating them to China.

A total of 25 staff are affected. "Many" will be offered the chance to relocate, according to the company, but one wonders how easily they'll be able to just uproot their lives for either the U.S. or Beijing.

R&D closures have always been a contentious issue in Australia, particularly given one of the things we're recognised for on the world IT stage is innovation and engineering prowess.

We'll have some better R&D news to share with you in the next couple of weeks - but that's hard comfort for the Websense team right now.

If after all that you still feel like telling us about what you do, for a chance at a $1,000 Christmas bonus no less, jump into our 2009 iTnews jobs survey here www.itnews.com.au/survey. It closes at midnight tonight.
