This morning, Microsoft's decision to offer whole disk encryption in only some of the Windows Vista editions leaves many users without one of the new operating system's most important security features, Gartner has said.

Also making news, the costs associated with the manual updating of privileged passwords are becoming "astronomical", according to new research from security firm Cyber-Ark and industry analyst IDC.
