Welcome to this morning’s iTnewswire.

This morning, home users continue to bear the brunt of Internet security attacks – some 86 percent - according to Symantec’s January to June 06 Internet Security Threat Report. The volume of spam and phising emails and new vulnerabilities has also increased sharply.

Researchers have found that paid search has only a 9 percent advantage over unpaid search in converting online shoppers to buyers.

Luxembourg-based satellite operator SES Global is to donate capacity and $US2 million in cash to the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) project aimed at bringing notebook computers to children in developing nations.

A breakdown of Apple’s iPod Nano portable music player has found that it is now almost US$18 less to make than the previous version.

YouTube has introduced accounts specifically for comedians which will include additional features not available to regular users.

Aussie PC manufacturer Optima has signed up BullGuard to install a free-trial version of its anti-virus, firewall, spam filter and online backup tools on its PCs and notebooks.

Plan on giving up your day-job for a career as an online comic? Are you getting value from your paid search? Why not email us with your comments.
