Welcome to this afternoon’s iTnewswire.

This afternoon, workers at Foxconn, which makes Apple's iPod media players, may be given new housing by the end of this year, following claims of "unacceptable" living and working conditions.

Analysts argue that Microsoft's Windows operating system must change to meet the demands of the modern computing world.

The vendor has also announced that it plans to all available versions of its forthcoming Windows Vista operating system on a single disc.

Former computer animation company Silicon Graphics (SGI) is to emerge from five months' Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in October.

Microsoft and Sony continue to square off, this time both companies are claiming that their respective XBox 360 and PS3 consoles will be high definition capable.

Does Microsoft have what it takes to cut it in the Web 2.0 space? Will HD graphics make or break the console makers? Why not email your comments?
