Welcome to this morning's iTnewswire.

This morning, industry analysts have hailed Motorola's planned of Symbol Technologies, acquisition dubbing the deal as one of "the most exciting investments in mobile computing and sensing technologies".

Analysts are also casting a wide net predicting that EBay, or an equivalent ‘trust system’, could replace banks within 20 years.

US scientists have unveiled a research project that aims to manufacture microscopic engines which can generate electricity using just water or heat.

The US patent and trademark office (USPTO) has set a new record for the total number of software patents that have been awarded in a single year.

Oracle CEO Larry Ellison has thrown down the gauntlet to SAP suggesting that unless SAP becomes a frequent acquisitions shopper it will be unable to keep pace with Oracle's growing vertical expertise.

Who does your organisation put its money behind – SAP or Oracle? Why? Would you trust EBay with your finances? Why not mail us your comments.
