Welcome to this afternoon’s iTnewswire.

This afternoon, Microsoft plans to roll out an Express Upgrade program that gives buyers of Windows XP-based PCs a coupon for a free or discounted upgrade to Windows Vista through 15 March

Operations of global software companies, financial institutions and government offices in India's main technology hub shut on Wednesday after activists called a strike over a border dispute with Maharashtra.

Dell pinpointed the current problem with faulty Sony notebook batteries almost a year ago but only called for a 22,000-unit recall at the time because it believed the problem was limited in scope.

Google has unveiled a website dedicated to literacy, pulling together its books, video, mapping and blogging services to help teachers and educational organisations share reading resources.

California Attorney General Bill Lockyer planned to file indictments on Wednesday against Patricia Dunn, former Hewlett Packard board chairwoman, and four others on charges related to HP's media leak probe, according to news reports.

Will you be buying a Dell notebook in the future? What is HP’s future? Why not mail your comments?
