This morning, Red Hat has come out swinging at Oracle following the launch of a rival set of services for its Enterprise Linux application.

The vendor has dismissed the offering as a “derivate” that “will not have the assurance of compatibility with the Red hat Enterprise Linux ecosystem."

In other news, laser and microwave weapons could soon protect US airports under a plan being tested by the US Department of Homeland Security and Raytheon.

The ‘Vigilant Eagle Airport Protection System’ aims electromagnetic energy at shoulder-fired missiles to throw them off course.
