Welcome to the morning edition of the iTnewswire.

This morning, Microsoft has dismissed reports of a security vulnerability in Internet Explorer 7 as "inaccurate" following a claim by security outfit Secunia that it had discovered the vulnerability.

Qantas Airways has said that it will outsource its IT support services to Satyam Computer Services and Tata Consulting Services, shedding 340 positions.

Oracle has released a 'critical patch update' that plugs 122 security vulnerabilities across the company's databases, enterprise applications, developer tools and middleware.

HP has taken Dell's crown for the most global PC shipments in the third quarter of 2006, shipping 110,000 more units than its rival, Gartner has said.

An Indiana University professor has been awarded a US$240,000 grant to create a virtual environment based on the world of William Shakespeare.

Is off-shoring still a viable IT services option? Does Dell or HP take precedence in your organisation? Why? Mail your comments
