Welcome to the morning edition of the iTnewswire.

This afternoon, security experts have detected a malicious trojan downloader being distributed in spoofed email messages claiming to be from Microsoft.

The Republican head of a US congressional committee said it would be a mistake if the Internal Revenue Service introduced regulations to tax virtual economies such as Second Life and World of Warcraft.

Emerging from bankruptcy proceedings this week, supercomputer maker SGI says its product line didn't miss a beat during the six-month reorganisation period.

Sweden's music lobby has said that the country has handed down its first conviction for music file-sharing on the Internet without paying and hailed the decision as a victory for intellectual property protection.

Microsoft is offering third-party developers privacy guidelines that the company has adopted internally.

Will virtual taxation reap virtual tax avoidance? Been spoofed lately? Mail your comments.
