Welcome to the morning edition of the iTnewswire.

This morning, despite the recent scandal at HP, only three CIOs of 28 surveyed companies planning to work with HP have reported that they now plan to look at other supplier options.

Microsoft has made its patented virtualisation format technology, which is used to run multiple operating systems on one computer, available for free to any third party.

Sun has unveiled Logical Domains virtualisation technology which enables its latest Niagara servers to run up to 32 virtual environments on Solaris 10.

Metasploit, which regularly publishes exploit code for its flagship open-source attack testing platform, has released a new module designed to disguise any browser exploit from detection by signature-based defences.

Asia's mobile phone users could be spending more than US$9 billion a year on ring-tones and music for their phones by 2010, research firm In-Stat predicts.

Will Microsoft's approach help it catch up to VMWare? Will ring tones and music overtake voice as the no.1 earner for telcos? Mail your comments.
