NAB hit by net banking glitch

Pay delays.

National Australia Bank has been hit by another internet banking glitch that has delayed pay day for customers.

The bank posted an official statement on its website that it was "experiencing some delays".

"Some transactions may not be appearing in customer accounts and some account balances may not be up to date," it said.

"We are working to rectify the situation and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."

Further comment was being sought from the bank.

The issues appeared to start at around 9am and were also affecting the NAB-backed UBank.

It was also affecting interbank transactions, according to CBA's Twitter feed.

"Due to issues at NAB, their o/night processing has been delayed, these issues will affect payments to you from NAB and other banks accounts," the CBA said.

NAB had a well-publicised IT outage late last year that affected "millions" of customers and introduced errors into over 19,000 accounts.

At the time, it blamed a corrupted file for the four-hour outage, which delayed "all types of payments" - including Centrelink welfare, credit card, salary and interbank transactions".

The extent of today's outage was still unknown.
