Kogan mocks cost of internet filter

Local manufacturer tries its hand at Chaser-style humour.

Australian gadget manufacturer Kogan has weighed into the internet filter debate in a satirical YouTube video that mocks the cost and effectiveness of the Federal Government's plan to filter the internet.

The video, uploaded last night, was created by "two budding engineers from the Kogan Technologies R&D team in Melbourne, Con & Roy," according to the company.

The video mocks the architect of the proposed filter, Senator Stephen Conroy, who warned Australians during Cyber Safety Week of "spams and scams coming through the portal."

Senator Conroy's plans have been the subject of several pieces of satire - the most memorable being Get Up's "Censordyne" advertisement [below].
