Firefox 3 tryout launched

Firefox fans can have a poke about under the hood of the next release of the popular Open Sores browser right now.

The second release candidate of the Firefox 3 release candidate, which is being made available 'for testing purposes only', is intended to garner feedback and bug detection from the army of unpaid developers and users who code and update Mozzilla's browsers and other software.

The release, which sits on the Gecko 1.9 web rendering platform, promises major improvements in performance, security and font handling.

Additions include one-click site interrogation, built-in malware protection, automatic plug-in checking and parental controls.

You can see a full list of the new features, and a download link, here.
