Dell ships entry-level workstation

Dell is shipping a new workstation that offers performance and features not seen before in a mainstream system, the company said

The Precision T3400, available immediately offers features such as support for dual graphics adapters and larger memory configurations than were previously available at a mainstream price point, according to Dell.

With prices starting at £579, the new workstation line is based on Intel Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Extreme processors combined with the new X38 Express chipset and supports memory configurations from 1GB up to 8GB.

For demanding 3D applications, the Precision T3400 can be fitted with Nvidia's latest Quadro FX 4600 graphics adapter or dual graphics configurations supporting up to four external displays. Its chassis can hold up to four hard drives, supporting SATA or SAS interfaces and RAID configurations. @ 2010 Incisive Media
