Marshal releases new product with the help of Centennial Software.

Email and Internet gateway security provider Marshal has released EndPoint Security, a policy-based enforcement product, as part of its partnership with endpoint security OEM specialist Centennial Software.

Marshal’s EndPoint security product allows only authorised removable media devices to connect to corporate desktops, thereby preventing data theft/leakage.

Nick Hawkins, vice president of Marshal Asia Pacific said the product will enable organisations to monitor and control what information goes in and out of the company via their removable media devices.

“The way we see it is that companies don’t have a physical network perimeter that they can protect any more. Employees take their laptops home and then they become the network perimeter,” said Hawkins.

Marshal EndPoint Security will also feature the option to automatically encrypt (using advanced 256-bit Blowfish or AES ciphers) all data legitimately copied to devices such as USB memory sticks.

Andy Burton, CEO of Centennial Software said the speed with which we have been able to bring this solution to market reflects the close synergies between our two solution sets and our shared view of how multi-layered security solutions should evolve.”
