Auscert2007: Security experts flock to Gold Coast
The AusCERT2007 (Australian Computer Emergency Response Team) forum ‘Executive Boot Camp’ has been developed specifically for CEOs to discuss hypothetical and real IT security scenarios in a closed and confidential speaker-led forum.

Director Nick Tate said the Camp presents a rare opportunity for executives to share experiences and ideas, and set strategies for IT security.

“The boot camp will bring together the decision-makers from notable Australian organisations and leading IT security experts and allow them to seriously discuss the information security issues they face,” he said.

Commencing in 2002, the AusCERT IT Security Conference features keynote speakers from the global security sector. This year the event boasts a keynote address from former eBay chief security strategist Howard A. Schmidt currently president and CEO of R & H Security Consulting, Ivan Krstic, chief security architect of One Laptop per Child and Mary Ann Davidson of Oracle Corporation.

Furthermore, scores of global security experts will be conducting seminars including representatives from the SANS Internet Storm Center and the Anti–Phishing Working Group (APWG).

Additionally, a trade show exhibiting the latest technologies from a variety of vendors will open on Sunday evening and carry on throughout the week. The conference will run between the 20th - 25th May 2007 at the Royal Pines Resort in the Gold Coast, Australia.
