The company, responsible for a multi-billion dollar liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in the state, is 50 percent-owned by Royal Dutch Shell.

Roll-in of the Shell SAP template started in June 2011 and is expected to be completed for go-live on April 10 this year.

The template includes finance/control (FI/CO), investment management (IM), asset management (AM), project system (PS), plant maintenance (PM), materials management (MM) and business warehouse (BW) modules.

It also covers elements of SAP's industry solution for oil & gas, known as IS OIL. The roll-in project has been codenamed SAPphire.

An Arrow Energy spokeswoman told iTnews that approximately 420 of Arrow's 900 staff are being trained as SAP users.

"The roll out of SAPphire within Arrow covers the company's entire operations in Brisbane, Moranbah, Dalby, [the] Braemar 2 power station near Dalby and additional sites as they become operational," the spokeswoman said.

Arrow Energy's main LNG project will see coal seam gas extracted from reserves in central and south-east Queensland and piped to a processing facility on Curtis Island, off Gladstone, to be liquefied for export.

The company wholly-owns Braemar 2, which generates power using coal seam gas.

Shell's SAP template comes from the oil giant's Exploration & Production (EP) business unit.

The R/3 based template is used by 17,000 staff in 22 countries worldwide and was initially rolled out with assistance from Accenture.
