Security management software vendor PatchLink has launched its global partner program across the Asia-Pacific, including in Australia.

Security management software vendor PatchLink has launched its global partner program across the Asia-Pacific, including in Australia.

PatchLink has confirmed in a statement that it has launched its Global Solution Partner Program (GSPP) in Australia. The plan was reported by CRN earlier this month.

The US vendor said the rollout was part of an ongoing effort to develop its channel to meet "increased demand" for its security software.

Neal Gemassmer, Asia-Pacific vice-president at PatchLink, said in a statement that the multi-tier program armed distributors and resellers with marketing and sales tools, technical training and support.

"PatchLink has designed a channel-focused program that effectively leverages industry expertise and leading-edge security technologies to provide partners with the ability to easily market to customers," he said.

Gemassmer said GSPP had silver, gold and platinum levels. Platinum was by invitation only.

"PatchLink is focused on providing the tools and resources that will drive revenue and increase profitability for its partners," he said.

"The partner program will also benefit our enterprise customers by enabling easy identification of authorised solution partners who have been certified on designing, implementing and supporting PatchLink solutions."

PatchLink authorised partners would get access to a private web portal for partners that would offer access to specific partner level information.

The portal would offer product updates, information on marketing campaigns, training resources, prospect registration and other sales and marketing material.

The vendor would also offer joint marketing funds via a sales-based program, Gemassmer said.

Mathew Boulenaz, a security representative from Queensland-based reseller Data#3, said in a pre-prepared statement provided by PatchLink that he approved of the vendor's "commitment" to the channel.

"Often vendors enter the market with little recognition of local business needs. However, PatchLink has taken the time to understand our needs and is giving us the resources, energy and expertise," Boulenaz was quoted as saying.

PatchLink offers a suite of security solutions in 12 languages and international channel support from offices in the US, UK, Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore.
