Project managers and business analysts are the jobs to have in the ICT sector, according to Candle Australia's July Jobs Index.

Project managers in particular are the most in demand workers with business analysts close contenders for the top spot.

The Index confirms a six-month trend, and reflects the resurgence of the industry's health.

"During the economic downturn of the last few years, companies had to put a large number of their IT projects on the backburner while the industry recovered," said Emma Stonham, marketing manager, Candle Australia.

"In today's strengthening economy however these projects have become mission critical. Highly skilled and experienced project managers are now in demand more than ever to ensure the success of these essential projects, " she added.

The list of the 10 top jobs also included analyst programmer, senior business analyst and project coordinator.
