Half of board named.

Tasmanian Premier David Bartlett provided the first insight into the make-up of the Tasmanian NBNCo board by filling four of the seven positions today.

TNBNCo board of directors takes shape

Doug Campbell - already an NBNCo director and executive chairman of Tasmania's NBNCo - took his third role in as many weeks with a place on the Tasmanian company board.

Alison Terry, Jody Fassina and Greg McCann fill the remaining three positions announced today.

McCann is a 25-year veteran of the IT systems integrator Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.

He also holds non-executive chairman positions for the 3G mobile social networking services provider MOKO.mobi, and with prepaid telephony company Tel.Pacific.

Alison Terry, a finalist in the Telstra Businesswoman of the Year awards in 2006, was best known for the 17 years she spent at GM Holden.

She joined the organisation in 1989 and was appointed its general counsel two years later. In the role, she was involved in high level public policy and Government relations and "the management of legal and regulatory exposures", according to AustralianSuper, a company for which she also sits on the board.

Terry has also served as a national councilor within the Australian Industry Group.

Apart from being a director of the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition and Trust, precious little was revealed about Jody Fassina.

A Crikey report claimed he was a former public relations manager at Macquarie Bank with rumoured political ties to Senator Stephen Conroy.

The three remaining Tasmanian NBNCo board members would be announced "in the near future", the state's Premier David Bartlett said.

"The appointment of the board shows that behind the scenes we are continuing to progress the roll out of [the NBN]," Bartlett said.

The Federal Government has also announced the salaries it will pay the chairman and directors of NBN Co.
